The Asean News Maker Project in Brunei Darussalam, the third stop for the project after Singapore and Malaysia, began on 29 June 2009 at Seameo Voctech Gadong. During the project, some 40 students and teachers from 20 schools used the NewsMaker software to produce video clips on topics that range from their school life to the history of their country and to their favourite local food, promoting their country’s culture and lifestyle to the other ASEAN member countries. |

The students and teachers underwent the two-day workshop, conducted by three trainers from EyePower Games, to learn the NewsMaker software and video-making techniques. A mini competition was held on the last day of the workshop to choose the best three videos produced by the schools and the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate Services) of Educations, Dyg Hjh Norjum Hj Mohd Yussop, presented the prizes to the winners. Dr Christopher Chia, CEO of Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) and Ms Cassandra Tay, Director of Communication, Community and International Relations of MDA, were also the VIPs for the prize presentation ceremony. The project was concluded successfully on 30 June 2009 and EyePower Games will continue to further the cause of the ASEAN NewsMaker Project, of enhancing close relationship among ASEAN member countries, by facilitating collaborations among schools in Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore.
